Jane Salfisberg

Jane Salfisberg, 81, Pequot Lakes, MN, died Saturday, November 23rd at Pierz Villa, Pierz, with her loving family at her side.  The Funeral for Jane will be at 11 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter, with visitation for one hour prior.  Interment will be at the Moose Lake Township Cemetery, rural Pequot Lakes, MN.

Jane Oliphant was born on May 26, 1938 at the family home in Cass County, rural Pillager, daughter of Robert and Grace (Richmond) Oliphant.  She grew up and received her education at Pillager.  She was united in marriage with Allen Salfisberg on April 19, 1959 at the Maple Hill Church, rural Pine River.  They made their home in Pine River.  In the early 1970’s, they moved with their family to Leadville, CO, where they lived until 1982, when they returned to Brainerd and then to Pequot Lakes, where they had lived since.  Allen died on October 2, 1990.  Jane enjoyed baking, feeding people, gardening for canning and she was an avid reader.

Jane is survived by her children: Kim (Chris) Nylund of Brainerd, Brad (Tami) Salfisberg of Pequot Lakes, Kathy (David) Wead of Blooming Prairie, Kari (Ed Money) Barnes of Crosslake, Sam (Molly Ring) Salfisberg of Pequot Lakes, John (Cathy) Salfisberg of Riverton, and Bob (Betty) Salfisberg of Pequot Lakes; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; her siblings: Dale Oliphant of Sedro-Wooley, WA, Betty (Bob) Marshall of Pillager, Galen Oliphant of Brainerd, Bruce (Mary) Oliphant of Crosby, Sharon Akervik of Salinas, CA, Gary (Jan) Oliphant of Baxter, and Diane (Sami) Talhami of Missoula, MT.  Jane was preceded in death by her husband: Allen; her son: Tom and a grandson: Charlie Canon; her parents: Robert & Grace Oliphant; siblings: Marvin, Ardyth, Ralph; and an infant brother, Michael.
