James Leslie Young, 73, of Pequot Lakes, MN died at his home on Saturday, October 21, 2017. A Celebration of Life for James will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1:00-3:00PM at the VFW in Jenkins, MN. A private burial for family and friends will be held at Jenkins City Cemetery in Jenkins, MN following the celebration of life at the VFW.

James was born on October 16, 1944 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to Leslie and Ruth (Schmidt) Young. He grew up in Blair, WI on the family farm. James attended Blair High School where he graduated in 1962. James was united into marriage to Diane Johnson on December 9, 1967 in Ettrick, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. James was a hardworking man and loved fixing and remodeling all things. He was a social butterfly and was loved by all who knew him. James loved to dance. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending his time with his family.

James will be sadly missed by his children, Rachelle (Jerrod) Carlson of Norwood Young America, MN, Jason Young of Pequot Lakes, MN, and Jeffery Young of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Jolene, Corey, Tristen, and Logan; and siblings, Carol (Harry) Rutherford of Aberdeen, SD, Ilene Coffeen of Stevens Point, WI, Eugene (Barbara) Nelson of Bardwell, KY, Jon Young of West Allis, WI, Nancy White of Arlington, KY, Dennis (Linda) Young of Cleveland, MN, Darrel (Cathy) Nelson of Blair, WI, Debra Nelson of Elgin, IL, Ramona Quintanilla of Elgin, IL, and Renee (Victor) Morales of Elgin, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane in 2012; son, Randall Lee Young; parents, Leslie and Ruth; step-father, Edgar Nelson; brother, Phillip Nelson; infant sister, Bonnie, and infant brother, Charles. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN.
