James Syrdal

James A. “Jim” Syrdal, age 66, of St. Francis, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, on Sunday, August 14, 2022. He was born to Lloyd and Arlyce Syrdal on January 21, 1956, in Minneapolis, MN.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years (January 30, 1982), Cindy Syrdal. He has 3 sons: Corey (Grace), Kevin (Nicole), and Travis; and 6 grandchildren including Bradlee and Jaxon (Corey), Kaden and Logan (Kevin), and Owen and Layla (Travis); brother, Todd (Gayle); sister, Laura Snyder; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dan, brothers-in-law Greg Snyder, Kenny Evenson, Dick Evenson, and Bruce Bengtson, sisters-in-law Laura Syrdal, Sam Evenson, and Debbie Stetler.

Jim worked at Safetran Systems for 26 years and Waltek for 18 years. He enjoyed coaching his three sons in baseball, skiing, and hunting. He was very proud of all his grandchildren. He enjoyed long conversations with family and friends at North Long Lake in Brainerd or really anywhere.

Services will be 12 PM on Saturday, August 27, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
