James Strowbridge

James (Sexton) Strowbridge, 79, of Brainerd died accidentally on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in Brainerd, MN. Memorial Services for James will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with visitation one hour prior to services.

James was born on December 28, 1933 in Blackduck, MN to George and Dorothy (Timblin) Sexton. He married Helen Lessila on July 6, 1957 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. James worked in the Quality Control Department at the Potlatch Corporation for 36 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, horses, and dogs. James liked motorcycle riding and loved spending time with his family. James liked reading western novels and watching western movies. He loved playing with his grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Helen; children, Mark, Rick, Scott, Jesse, and Julie Strowbridge, Shari Merrell, and Chad (Shanna) Strowbridge; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Sexton; mother, Dorothy and step-father, Lewis Strowbridge; and sister, Loretta Buley. Memorials preferred to Humane Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
