James Stockard

James R. Stockard, 62, of Crosslake, (Fairfield Township) died Saturday, May 3, at his home. James Richard Stockard was born July 10, 1940 in Ann Arbor, MI to Alfred and Jewel (Beard) Stockard. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a BSEE in electrical engineering in 1963. On August 31, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary Ayers in Dexter, MI. He was employed at Control Data of Arden Hills, from 1963 ? 1992 in computer development. He served as Shoreview City Planning Commissioner from 1975 ? 1981. He was the retired owner of Clamshell Beach Resort, Ideal Township, active in resort owners associations (MRA & CMR), and the White Fish Lodging Association (WALA), and a seasonal tax employee at Larson Allen at their St. Cloud and Brainerd offices.
James is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Christine (Daniel) Stockard Christ of Iowa City, IA; son John (Vanessa) Stockard of Minnetonka, MN; one grandson; one granddaughter, and a sister Martha Jane Stockard of Vallejo, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.

Services will be on Friday, May 9, at 11 AM, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake with Reverend Mark Anderson officiating, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
