James Peka

James “Jim” P. Peka, 75, of Little Falls, MN died at St. Cloud Hospital on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 with his family by his side. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM.

Jim was born on May 19, 1942 in Little Falls, MN to John and Rose (Podraza) Peka. He grew up on a farm in Swan River Township and attended the Little Red School House in Sobieski. Jim then went to the Flensberg Catholic School. He married Rosemary Wochnick on October 16, 1965. They lived on and farmed the Peka’s family farm near Sobieski. Jim worked for Long Prairie Machinery as a mechanic, Kaiser Trucking as a mechanic/truck driver and Ixe’s Implement as a mechanic along with farming and various mechanic jobs during his career. He enjoyed woodworking and picking interesting rocks. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

He was survived by his wife, Rosemary; son James (Tina) of Savage; daughters, Ruth of Zimmerman, Brenda (Ron) Miller of St. Michael, Karen (Paul) Arens of Delano and Judy Peka of St. Cloud; twelve grandchildren; brothers, Everett and Ernie; and sisters, Esther and Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Rose, brothers; Johnny, Lawrence, Sylvester, Louis and infant brother Clarence. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
