James Loftis

James Martin Loftis, 64, of Brainerd, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. He was born September 4, 1948 in Staples. His parents were Martin James and June Hulda (Huebner) Loftis.

His family moved to Brainerd in 1958. Jim graduated from Washington High School in 1966. He served with the US Army in the Vietnam War from 1969 -1970 with the 9th Infantry Division, 11th Armored Cavalry.

He was a member of VFW Post 1647, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 22, and a proud member of LOE, #129.

His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

Jim enjoyed Blues music, auto racing, and living life to the fullest. His mottos were "Rock till you drop" and "YOLO".
