James Jacobs

James Jacobs, 58, of Staples, died at his home, Wednesday September 29, 2010. A funeral service is Sunday October 3, at 2:00PM at the Swan Valley Lutheran Church in Leader with Pastor Mel Nefstead officiating. Visitation will be at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples from 5 - 7 PM on Friday October 1st and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Swan Valley Cemetery.

James was born on July 28, 1952 to Harley and Lolly (DesJardins) Jacobs in Minneapolis, MN. James graduated from Fridley Senior High School and worked as a mason. He was united in marriage to Sherry Shake on December 14, 2002 at Swan Valley Lutheran Church in Leader.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, softball and watching sports.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Lolly.

James is survived by his wife, Sherry Jacobs of Staples; father, Harley of Staples; sister, Valerie (David) Bulis of California and Janice (Jerry) Laske of Champlin; brother, Douglas (Bonnie) Jacobs of Becker.

Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
