James Dearborn Jackson was born January 30, 1948, in Des Moines, IA to John Bartow Jackson and Josephine Dearborn Jackson, the third of six children. The family was transferred to Sioux City, where Jim attended Heelan H.S., joining the USMC immediately out of high school serving two tours in Vietnam. He joined Burlington Northern where he worked 35 years retiring in Willmar, MN where he resided for many years.
Survivors include: sisters, Judy Bauer (Dick) AZ, JoAnn Osterloh (Rod) MN and Jacquie Jowers (Gary) AZ.; brothers, Jack Jackson (Kathy) OR and Jere Jackson (Julie) SD; and 16 nieces and nephews.
Jim is remembered by the twinkle in his eyes, his smiles, grins and laughter. He was known by many as Jimmy Jack. Jim died suddenly on August 24, at Hills Crossing Senior Living, Nisswa, MN.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa, IA. A private celebration will be held by his family at a later date.
