James M. Hendrickson, known to many as "Hymie," age 59, of Brainerd, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home. Born on February 2, 1965, in Crosby, MN, he was the son of Carl and Mary (Girtz) Hendrickson.
Hymie was a free spirit who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was passionate about riding his Harley, spending time fishing, and enjoying his garage—where he often found peace and happiness. He also cherished going to the pits to swim. A man with a great sense of humor, Hymee was always quick with a laugh and loved making those around him smile. His carefree, go-with-the-flow nature made him a friend to all, and he loved nothing more than spending time with his girls.
He is survived by his children: Ashlei Hendrickson (Phil), Katie Dean (Cody), Kristin Hendrickson (Sarah), and Baley Turner. He also leaves behind his life partner of 27 years, Deborah Turner, and her children Jessica, Brenda, and Brandon. Hymee is further survived by his siblings, Mary (Jim) Pryor, Sue Decent, and Mike (Darlene) Hendrickson. He was also a beloved grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary, and his brother, Paul "Tates."
Hymie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to experience his vibrant spirit.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
