James Hanlon

James E. Hanlon, 78, of Verndale died on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Services for James will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples with Pastor Dave Rogenes officiating with vistation one hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2012.

James was born March 20, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to Leo and Marie (Finstead) Hanlon. James entered the Marine Corp in 1951. He married Shirley Priebe in Savage, MN in 1966. James and Shirley lived in Richfield where James was a mechanic for twelve years. They moved to Verndale in 1968 and worked as a mechanic there until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

James is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, James (Shelly), Kevin, and William; daughters, Debbie Pilgrim, Cindy (David) Rogenes, and Kathy (Wayne) Larson; brother, Michael; sister, Dorothy Kahnke; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marie, first wife, Shirley J. (Johnston); brothers, Dick, Bob, and Leon; sister, Helen Roy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
