James Filibeck

James Robert Filibeck died June 22, 2018, in Birmingham, AL. Jim was born December 18, 1949, to James and Helen (Welte) Filibeck in Bemidji, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Thelma (McClintock) from Athens, AL; sisters, Judy (Bob) Arboleda and Sue (Bruce) Gregersen, both of Tucson, AZ; three children: James (Carol) Filibeck of Alice Springs, Australia, Mary (Luke) Swenson of Brooks, MN, Ryan (Karla) Filibeck of Kapolei, HI; three stepchildren: Kim (Hieu Tran) Johnson of Elizabeth, CO, Lisa Lawlor of Arnold, MD, Amy (Randy) Butler of Madison, AL; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Besides Minnesota, Jim lived in Washington, Hawaii and Arizona. He moved to Alabama in 2003. He loved that he could fish year round. Jim was a Court Reporter for many years, but his first love was teaching music. Everyone loved listening to Jim play the guitar and piano and sing, and that brought everyone so much joy. He loved traveling and camping in his travel trailer, especially singing and playing his guitar around the campfire.

Memorial and Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Kline Funeral Home in Pine River, MN. Lunch will follow at Bites Grill and Bar, Pine River.
