James Clement

March 10, 1929 — June 5, 2015

James R. Clement "Jim", was 86 years old when he passed away on June 5, 2015 at the Heritage House in Pequot Lakes. Jim was born on March 10, 1929 in Wanke MN, to Theodore and Mae (St. Marie) Clement. He was a U.S Army veteran, having served in Korea. In 1955, Jim married Shirley (Steen), and they soon started a family in the Minneapolis area, where they raised their 3 sons: Scott, Peter, and Charlie. The Clement family eventually moved to Monticello, MN in 1972 where Jim built their home on Lake Ida. He was proud in his work, where he had a successful business selling high quality furniture to interior designers. In his time away from work, Jim enjoyed dancing, golfing, cooking, and spending winters in California with their son, Charlie. Jim and Shirley moved to Nisswa about 25 years ago, where they built another home together. Upon retiring, Jim loved to spend his summer days on the golf course as a ranger for The Preserve, and enjoyed relaxing with "Ole", the families Cocker Spaniel.


He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons, Scott (Kathi Jo) of Onamia, Pete (Lynne) of Pequot Lakes and Charlie of La Quinta, CA; six grandchildren, Andrew, Alicia, Maggie, Sam, Dustin and Allison; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Daniel (Judy) of Crosslake.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Clair, Darlene, Shirley; and brother, Allen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM Friday, June 12, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Nisswa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be Monday, June 15, 11 AM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
