James A. Bourassa passed away at the age of 65 on the 29th of April 2021, due to complications of the covid virus. Jim was born in Brainerd MN in 1955 to James and Francis Bourassa. He graduated with honors from Brainerd High School and proudly joined the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1979 and moved to Alexandria, MN with his former wife Valerie, and their daughter Mandi. He then moved to Coon Rapids and worked for Homeland Security as a Mission Specialist with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He was so proud of his little family and enjoyed taking trips with his daughter Mandi, her husband Tom, and his granddaughters, Anika and Sophia. He enjoyed life and had many friends. He kept active running marathons, biking, walking, and dancing several times a week. He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Bourassa. He is survived by his mother Francis Bourassa, loving daughter Mandi (Tom Schwartz), Granddaughters Anika and Sophia Shequin, brothers, Gary (Cathy), Dan (Dianne), Dale (Lori), Ben, and sisters, Sandy (Steve Sandberg) Diane,(David DeVere), Kathy (Joe Gleason).
He was a good and talented man and will be truly missed by many.
Services at Brenny Funeral Home 7348 Excelsior Blvd Baxter MN May 29th, 2021 at 2:00PM, his body will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling on June 1st, 2021 at 11:45.
