Jacquelyn M. “Jackie” Ferris, age 70, Motley, died Friday, March 3rd at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, surrounded by her loving family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 9th at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley, with Fr. Joe Korff presiding, visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Little Falls in the spring.

Jackie was born on March 7, 1946 in Little Falls, MN, daughter of Constantine and Eleanore (Patyk) Zak, where she grew up until age 10, when the family moved to Hopkins. She graduated from Lindberg High School in Hopkins in 1963. She was united in marriage with Robert “Bob” Ferris on November 1, 1963 in Sisseton, South Dakota. They made their home in Hopkins and in 1966; Bob began working with the City of Bloomington Police Department. Jackie worked a number of jobs over the years, but her primary occupation was mother, homemaker and cop’s wife. She and Bob moved to Motley to enjoy their retirement. Jackie enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and cruises. She and Bob also did taxidermy and enjoyed going to the casino together. She also enjoyed music, puzzles, playing cards and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with family.

She is survived by seven children: Jeff (Lori) Ferris of Bemidji, Jay (Cheryl) Ferris of Chicago, Jaurone (Ben) Richards of Cushing, Jennifer (Brett) Sibert of Hewitt, Jill (Nate) Lindstrom of Albertville, Jared (Courtney) Ferris of Pillager and Jonathan (Krystal) Ferris of Verndale; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers: Skeeter (Mary) Zak of Little Falls and Ronnie (Julie) Zak of Edina. She was preceded in death by her parents: Constantine and Eleanore Zak; and her husband: Bob on 12-14-2016. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
