Jack Guelich

November 29, 1917 — January 24, 2009

Jack Guelich, 91, of Emily, died at his home Saturday, January 24, 2009. Services for Jack will be held at 11:00, Thursday, January 29th, at the Emily United Methodist Church in Emily, MN with Pastor Lois Hansen officiating. Friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to services.
Jack was born November 29, 1917 in Philipsburg, PA, the son of Paul and Mynn (Whitney) Guelich. After graduating from high school, Jack attended college for two years. He enlisted in the US Army during WWII where he served his country in Normandy. In 1948, he was united in marriage to Jessie Lawson. The couple moved to Minnetonka where they lived for many years. Jack was employed as a truck driver for Axel H. Ohman Construction Company for over 30 years. In 1989, Jack and Jessie retired and relocated to Ruth Lake near Emily.

Jack was a member of the United Methodist Church in Emily, VFW, and the American Legion. He was also part of the Snow Birds Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and reading.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jessie; daughters Jackie (Gary) Jeffers and Nancy (Willie Johnson) Guelich; sons Jeff (Carolyn Shepard)) Guelich and Jay (Sally) Guelich; and grandchildren Hannibal Guelich and Madison Guelich. He is preceded in death by his six brothers, Dick, Bill, Bud, Paul, Bob and Don.
