Irvin Olson

A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Brainerd for Irvin N. Olson, age 84, who died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Pastor Eugene Johnson will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.  Visitation will be from 11:30AM until the time of service, all at the church in Brainerd.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.

Irvin was born October 21, 1934 in Litchfield to Nels and Violet (Larson) Olson.  He married Addie Russell on November 26, 1955 in Hewitt, Minnesota. Irvin took great pride in his work. He started his own company which was named Irvin Olson Masonry Construction, until 1988 when he changed the name to Irvin & Larry’s Masonry to include his sons name.  He loved working with the other contractors in the area and he considered many of them to be his very best friends. Irvin’s grandchildren, Nathan and Taylor worked with their grandfather on the job site; they always knew it was time to get back to work after tea time (Break) when Irvin would say “well…”. He enjoyed spending time with family, making his grandchildren laugh, and striking up a good conversation. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Irvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Addie; children, Susan (Robert) Ohman, Larry (Gloria) Olson; grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor, Amanda, and Michael Olson; siblings, Barbara (Thomas) Jones, Joy (David) Harnack, and Ronald (Deb) Olson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lyle (Wendy) Olson; infant daughter, Sherri Olson; and sister, Eleanor Dietsche.
