Irva Johnson

Irva Johnson passed away peacefully at her home in Pequot Lakes after complications of heart failure on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by parents Alice (Irwin) and Carl Byers; husband, Donald Johnson; sisters, Magdalene Hecht and Geraldine Olson; brothers: Bert Byers, Vernon Byers, Irwin Byers; son-in-law, Joseph Wallin; and grandson, Carl Byers. She is survived by sisters, Joyce Scoles (George) and Myrtle Schmidt (Don); sons, Brian Byers (Nita) and Mark Kneeskern (Bonnie); niece, Barb Byers; adopted puppy, Abby; daughter, Paula Geer (Johnson/Wallin ); grandsons: Eric Wallin, Justin Wallin, Michael Wallin; granddaughter, Connie Wallin; as well as great grandchildren, countless loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Irva worked at Breezy Point Resort for many years until her retirement several years ago. Irva was a masterful gardener and made a positive impact with everyone she has known in life with her love, kindness and playful sense of humor. Irva’s passing leaves a void in our lives that cannot be filled.

Services will be 2 PM on Friday, September 20, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
