Irete Elizabeth Irvine, 93, of Motley, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in Clarissa, MN. Services for Irete will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Lyle Schober, Richard Raschke, and Shari Stamps officiating. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place later at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Irete was born January 29, 1916 in Amboy, MN, the daughter of Daniel and Lottie (Tucker) Royer. After graduating from Amboy High School, Irete was united in marriage to Woodrow WoodyIrvine on November 2, 1941. The couple farmed for a number of years before retiring and moving to Mapleton. They enjoyed traveling and enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. Irete also liked music, cooking, gardening, and playing games with her family. She accepted the Gospel in 1942 and was true to that commitment till the time of her death. She and Woody held worship services in their home for many years.
Irete is survived by her children, Jim (Wanda) Irvine, of Rochester, MN, Bob Irvine, of Dexter, and Nita (Derald) Steinbrecher, of Motley; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Danice Kress, of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Odell Rome.
