Irene Madison

June 19, 1929 — August 18, 2008

Irene was born on June 19, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN, to Bert and Adeline Lundine. She grew up in the Cities and graduated from Washburn High School. She met and married Jack Madison and they had four children. Irene worked in the restaurant business all her adult life, retiring in 1992. In 1989 she and Jack moved to Motley. Jack passed away in 2003. In August of 2004 she married Raymond Konen and they shared four wonderful years together. Irene was a member of St, Michaels Catholic Church, Seniors in Motley and Randall, a number of card clubs, and St. Anns Circle. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, canning, bird watching, knitting, sewing, beading, travel, 4 wheeling, and snowmobiling. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Adeline; her first husband, Jack Madison; son, Jerry Madison; and brother, George Lundine. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Konen; sons, John (Linda) of Lindstrom, James (Cindy) of Savage, and Jeff (Colleen) of Inver Grove Heights; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Zarbok and Joyce Povolny; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Arthritis Association.
