Ila M. Fanjoy

Ila M. Fanjoy, 91, of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 27, 2024 in Brainerd. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 5, 2024 at 11:00am at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. Interment will be at a later date. 

Ila was born to Martin and Ruby (Sisk) Doust in Merrifield on August 18, 1932. She was employed at the Brainerd State Hospital as a Supervisor for many years. 

Ila dedicated her life to volunteer work. She loved being a member of the Brainerd VFW Auxiliary, and volunteering at the State Hospital. She loved trips to the casino. Ila was a great mother to six wonderful kids. She will be greatly missed. 

She is survived by her children Martin (Peggy) Jones, Dixie (Mike) McCapes, Robin (John) Carbone, Robert (Marilyn) Fanjoy, and James Fanjoy, 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, numerous great, great grandchildren, and her siblings Dan Doust, Steve Doust, Ed Doust, and Irene Boyd. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Fanjoy, her son Larry Jones, and nine siblings. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Judes or Boys Town.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
