Ida Diehl Frodahl, age 96, of Staples, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Lakewood Health Systems Care Center in Staples. Ida was born July 9, 1920 in Goodridge, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans and Ragnhild (Olson) Fjeld. She grew up and attended school in Goodridge, graduating from Goodridge High School in 1938. On October 13, 1939 she was united in marriage to George Henry Diehl, in Goodridge. The couple farmed at Smiley Township, near Thief River Falls. George passed away in 1964. Ida began working as an Avon representative and as a secretary in the nurse’s office at Lincoln High School. She was remarried, to Max Frodahl in Thief River Falls, on November 9, 1974. Following her retirement from the school, Max and Ida enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel, particularly to Texas. Max and Ida moved to Cambridge, and then to Mora.
