Hildegard Zwack

February 6, 1924 — January 7, 2013

Hilde Zwack, 88, a long-time Pequot Lakes resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2013. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes with Deacon Rick Paine officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. There will be a luncheon at the Pequot Lakes American Legion immediately following the service. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at a future date.

Hilde was born February 6, 1924, in Dahlgren Township, Carver County, MN, the daughter of Raymond and Genevieve (Schmieg) Kelzer. She was raised on the family farm near Waconia. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Joseph W. Zwack. She loved the outdoors - especially walking in the woods or on the beach, feeding and watching the birds, and gardening. Flowers bloomed under her magical green thumb, indoors and out, and for many years she fed her family of 10 on fresh vegetables from her gardens. She loved to play 500, sew clothing and crochet afghans for her family, travel, play pool, and cheer for the Twins and Vikings.

She is survived by her children; Neil (Bonnie) Zwack of Palm Desert, CA, Gerald (Lou Ann Owens) Zwack of Breezy Point, Dwayne (Shaun) Zwack of Corpus Christi, TX, Jean (Mike) Kline of Plymouth, Donna Myers of Pequot Lakes, Susan Johnson of Jenkins, Joseph (Alexa) Zwack of Angwin, CA, David (Camie) Zwack of Breezy Point; her twin brother Hubert; brothers Denis and Leon; sisters Genrose, Eunice and Erna; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph; sisters; Jeanette, Lyra, Ardis, Joanne; brother Killian; and grandson Scott.
