Herman Frank Wedl (known as "Herb" and "Herm") was born December 29, 1929 in Cold Spring, MN, the son of Gottard and Ida (Niernhausen) Wedl. In 1948, he graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School. He served his country for 3 years as part of the Air Force stationed on Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, AZ. In 1950, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Carver. Herman made his career as a Branch and District Manager for Pacific Gamble Robinson, where he worked for 35 years. He retired in 1987. Herman was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed all outdoor activities - specifically fishing, hunting, and more fishing. He also liked to spend time with his family and grandchildren, especially when they went fishing. He also enjoyed spending time fishing with friends or hunting with family. Did we mention Herman really liked to fish?
Herman died at his home in Baxter, MN on Friday, December 07, 2012. Private Services will be held. Memorials preferred to donor's choice.
He will be missed by his wife, Dorothy; children, Lisa (Michael Chase) Wedl, Steve (Karen) Wedl, Dave (Kris) Wedl, Rebecca (Jack Wilson) Wedl, and Tom (Shawn) Wedl; grandchildren, Matt, Erin, Melissa, Jason, Brian, Nikki (Scott), Jeremy (Stacy), Ryan, Jon, Rachel (Ryan), Ross, Katie, Devon, Jordyn, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Caitlin, Caitlin, Emily, Liz, Zachary, Sam, Tyler, Saige, Billy, Alex, Ben, and Sophie; He was preceded in death by his parents; Gottard and Ida; brothers, LeRoy (Doris), Ambrose "Hank" (Florence), and Jerry (Doris); and sister, Delrose (Bernard) Bichler.
