Herbert Lambert

June 24, 1938 — February 19, 2017

Herbert Lambert, 78, of Verndale, MN passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Services for Herbert will be at 12:00PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Balsamlund Lutheran Church in Aldrich, with Pastor Eric Klapp officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Friday, February 24 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Balsamlund Lutheran Cemetery.

Herbert was born June 24, 1938 in Staples Township, MN to Herman and Florence (Sklenika) Lambert. Herbert grew up on the family farm, where he milked cows, did field work and grew a love for tractors. He was a member of the England Prairie Pioneer Club and Balsamlund Lutheran Church Mens Club. Herbert had a love for fast cars and loud trucks. He watched a lot of car races on TV and at the track. He enjoyed tractor pulls, in which he won numerous trophies. Herb loved spending time with his family and friends. He liked to taste test all kinds of food, we all know he had a sweet tooth. Herb was a happy man with a smile that was contagious. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Herb is survived by his sister, Shirley Lambert; brother in law, Ronald Anderson; niece, Brenda Hebl; nephew, Douglas Anderson; niece, Susan (Rodney) Meier; special friend, Gwen Webb; great nephews, Ty (Amber) Hebl, Charles (Megan) Anderson, Anthony Anderson, Jared (Darlene) Meier; great nieces, Sarah (Kyle) Lamppa, Cierra Meier and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Florence (Sklenicka) Lambert and sister, Nancy L. Anderson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
