Helmer "Dick" Rudlang, age 78, of Pine River, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He was born November 13, 1938, on the homestead of his Grandpa Halvorson in Pequot Lakes. His parents were Henry and Tillie (Halvorson) Rudlang. Dick married Barbara (nee Brandt) on July 27, 1984.
Dick worked as a licensed contractor for many years, but enjoyed farming, especially the haying season. He was a very kind and humble man who loved and valued his family above all.
Dick is survived by his wife, Barbara; two children from a previous marriage, Tammy Peterson (Neil) and Kimberly Swenson (Robert); stepchildren, Douglas Pruitt (Durrie) and Pamela Pruitt (Dennis Blakesley); grandchildren: Todd Waters (Natalie), Beth Clark (Jarrod), Nick Swenson (Shannon), Cody Swenson, Brittany Swenson (Justin), Kaden Swenson, Kirstin Dunham, Cole Blanchard, Greg Pruitt, Michael Pruitt (Caiti); great grandchildren: Trevor, Tillie, Amber and Cash. He is also survived by brother, Kenneth; sisters: Catherine Feakes, Clarice Tulenchik, Carol Kalis; brother-in-law, Richard Brandt (Rose); and sisters-in-law, Rhonda Schulte and Carol Rudlang.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Rudlang; and son, Kevin Rudlang.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM followed by the service at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 25, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Lunch will follow. Burial will be in the Pequot Lakes City Cemetery.
