Helen Schwankl

Helen Schwankl, 88, Pequot Lakes, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Crosby Care Center. Memorial services will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Helen was born September 10, 1915, in Brooklyn, NY, to Leopold and Helen Miller. After moving to Brainerd, Helen worked as an RN for more than forty years at St. Joseph?s Medical Center, with much of her service in leadership positions. She is survived by a son, Tom (Susan) Schwankl, of Pequot Lakes; two brothers, David and Paul Miller; 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Her parents; a brother, Frank; and two sisters, Dorothy and Ruth, preceded Helen in death.
