Helen Grace Mozey went home to her Lord Monday, February 4, 2013. Services will be private.
Helen was born January 18, 1921 in Eagle Bend, MN and was raised by her loving grandparents, Fredrick and Lydia Kingbay. Following her high school graduation from Eagle Bend, she attended college in St. Cloud before earning an accounting degree from the Minnesota School of Business. Helen met her soul mate, Leonard Mozey and the couple was joined in marriage on September 5, 1942. During WWII, Helen and Leonard lived on an Air Force Base before returning to Minnesota where they settled in Brooklyn Park. She was a homemaker, master gardener, seamstress, avid reader, piano player, and baker. She made countless doll cakes for fundraisers for the PTA and would works days on sewing beautiful intricate doll clothes. They moved to Nisswa in 1975 and were there until Leonard passed away in 1998. Helen then moved in with her daughter, Nancy, her favorite son-in-law, Randy and special granddaughter, Nikki (Justin Biebighauser). Helen especially loved football season and would have friendly bets with Randy on the Vikings. She lived there until she went home to her Lord and was reunited with her soul mate, Leonard. We are sure they are dancing together again for eternity. Helen had a heart as big as the world and will be greatly missed by her three children, Leonard, Jr., Larry, Nancy (Randy) Phillips, nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, special friends Judie and Joe Berry, Irene Leonard and Becky Newstrom; her loving dogs, Zoe and Gigi; and her birds, Bonnie and Clyde. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard and brother, Carroll Wilson.
She was our heroine - facing each day with a huge smile and telling everyone "to have a great day" as she faced her daily struggles with Parkinson's.
