Helen Ann Landecker, age 90, of Baxter, originally of Breezy Point, died Monday August 12, 2024 with her family by her bedside and is now face to face with Jesus, her Savior and Lord. Helen was born on a farm north of Renville, MN to Wilbur and Evelyn (Blokzyl) Hebrink. After high school graduation she then went on to graduate from Franklin School of Nursing in Minneapolis and worked at Eitel Hospital.
In 1953 she met and married her husband Myron Landecker. They started life together in Crystal, MN and soon grew to a family of 6 and moved further out of the city into Dayton Township.
In 1973 Mike and Helen moved to Breezy Point and started Landecker and Associates, a surveying company in Pequot Lakes. Helen was Mike’s ‘Girl Friday’ doing everything that Myron needed done. Together they retired in the 1980’s. They had a motorhome and enjoyed a lot traveling around the United States as well as traveling abroad to exotic places. She loved being close to her children and their families, and being able to watch her grandchildren in all their various activities.
Helen had the gift of hospitality and shared that with her family and many friends. She loved time gardening and taking long walks. She volunteered in many capacities at her church and in her community. She was also an avid Twins fan!
In 2016, because of Myron’s health, they moved into an apartment at Northern Lakes Senior Living in Baxter and enjoyed meeting new friends and all the social opportunities there.
Helen is survived by her children, Don (Connie), David (Kim), Mary Beth (Bill) Wroolie, and Kristi (Joe) Kraemer. She has loved 15 grandchildren who have given her 28 great-grandchildren to adore. Her extended family and her friends, too numerous to mention, will miss her dearly.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Myron, her parents, her brother Merlin, and sister Wilma, and infant great grand daughter Savanah, daughter of grandson Dustin and wife, Amy.
Visitation will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter with a Memorial service to follow at noon. Lunch will be served after the service with a private family burial following at Pelican Woods Cemetery in Breezy Point.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer you make a donation to a charity of your liking - a few of Helen’s favorites are her church Lord of Life Lutheran, MN Adult and Teen Challenge, Habitat for Humanity, and Alzheimer’s Association.
