Helen Kramer, age 93, formerly of Motley, passed away at the Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids, on Monday, February 7. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 11, at 11:00 AM, at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, at the church. Helen will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Joseph, in the Motley Public Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
Helen was born May 17, 1917 in Olivia Minnesota. She was the last surviving member of the Kieffer family of fourteen, eight brothers and four sisters and one twin sister.
Helen was married to Joseph Kramer on September 22, 1936. They farmed in Bird Island, Olivia, Hector and Motley Minnesota. Joseph passed away May 17, 1964. After the passing of Joseph, Helen worked in the Twin Cities as a housekeeper and a nanny. She then went to work at the Larson Boat Works of Little Falls, which she retired from after 14 years. After retiring she moved to Anoka Minnesota to be near her children. She enjoyed needle point, crocheting, baking cookies and banana bread and also traveling with her friend Hilde.
Helen is survived by her children Mary Louise Corkran (Pat) of Wisconsin, Ronald Kramer (Carol) of Motley Minnesota, Janice Hallwachs of Ohio and Thomas Kramer (Robin) of Anoka Minnesota; twelve Grandchildren, twenty-one Great Grand children and twelve Great-Great Grand Children.
