Helen H. Kimball

Helen Kimball, 75, of Staples, MN passed away at Lakewood Health System in Staples on December 9, 2022, with her family by her side. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Helen was born to Rufus and Lillian (Makinen) Patson on December 4, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, Mn. She was baptized and confirmed in the Apostolic Lutheran faith, and she graduated from Menahga High School in 1966. On June 3, 1967, Helen married the love of her life, Ron Kimball at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Menahga. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Staples, MN.

Helen was known to be a very lively and energetic person. She enjoyed gardening and crafting. She loved to travel, and her highlights were her trips taken to Egypt and Jerusalem. Helen was a CRA for over 28 years at Lakewood Health Systems. She was also Caregiver of the Year in her district, she enjoyed helping everyone. Helen loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating for Christmas. She was very neat and organized all of the time and made new friends very easy. Helen loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron, her children Michael (Jenifer) of Brooklyn Park and Bryan of Winsted, her grandchildren Herbert and Zachary, her siblings Ernest (Leatha) Patson of Menahga, Rueben (Sue) Patson of Detroit Lakes, Dorothy Walkama of Menahga, Bernice (Jim) Kangas of Menahga, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Arnold Patson, Kenneth Patson and Wesley Patson, and her sisters Marlene Patson and Florence Odland.
