Helen Enkhaus

Helen A. Enkhaus, 84, of Staples, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at Lakewood Health System Nursing Home. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 25 from 3-5 PM at the Church of Christ in Staples with services starting at 5:00 PM.

Helen was born April 2, 1931, in Staples, the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Skruppy) Palava. After school, Helen married Gerald Enkhaus in 1953 and she raised their son and worked at home. Helen loved to fish, hunt, garden and cook. She enjoyed spending time with her numerous dogs over the years and liked quilting at Church of Christ. At 74 - and after Gerald passed away - Helen decided she needed her driver's license.

She is survived by her son, Bruce (Judy) Enkhaus; brother, Richard (Patricia) Palava, of Ocala, FL; and her granddaughter, Alicia. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Harry.
