Helen Dickie

Helen M. Dickie, 79, passed away at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd on July 29, 2012 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Helen was born February 10, 1933, the daughter of Walter and Ida Bohnsack at the family farm, three miles west of New Prague, MN. Helen attended country schools and graduated from New Prague High School. She married Dale Dickie on April 7, 1951 and supported Dale in his 50 career with Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company in Mankato and Crosslake. They moved from Mankato to Crosslake in 1985 and thoroughly loved life at the lake. She was an active member of Crosslake Lutheran Church and served as Worship & Music and Alter Guild committee chairpersons for nearly 20 years. Helen and her husband enjoyed singing in the choir for over 25 years. She was also involved in many civic activities and was a charter member and president of the Crosslake Lioness Club.

Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dale; daughters, Linda (Terry) Sexe, of Jacksonville, FL and Pamela Goerges, of Crosslake and Gary Goerges, of Crosslake; grandchildren, Anthony (Tressa) Sexe, Alison Myers, Daniel Sexe, Alex Goerges, Jackson Goerges, and Mallory Helen Goerges; and seven great-grandchildren, Zachary Sexe, Sydney Sexe, Justin Myers, Tyler Myers, Cameron Myers, Joshua Myers, and Jacob Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ralph, Rueben, and Irwin Bohnsack. She was also preceded in death by grandson-in-law, Ross Myers.

A Memorial Service will be held at Crosslake Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Larsen officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services at the church.
