Helen Avis

Helen Avis, age 52, of Backus, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Hennepin County Medical Center. She was born August 14, 1955 in Park Rapids to James and Betty Cripps.
She is survived by her children: Jenny Cripps of Wahpeton, ND, Loretta Avis of Backus, Danny Avis of Long Prairie; mother, Betty Cripps of Backus; sister, Ethel Avis of Backus; brothers: Harvey Cripps of Detroit Lakes, William Cripps of Vergas; grandchildren: Mary Cripps, Rowdy Borman, Daniel Francis, Jr., Kayla Francis, and Amadeus Avis.
She was preceded in death by her father, James.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, March 1, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Backus, with Pastor Jeff Broom officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
