Harvey Beck

Harvey Beck, age 74, of Brainerd, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at Woodland Good Samaritan Apartments. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
Harvey L. Beck was born July 7, 1927 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Rasmus and Bertha (Christopherson) Beck. He grew up and graduated from high school in Duluth. He married Lois Jean Nelson, his wife of 51 years, in Duluth on October 18, 1947. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Little Falls, where Harvey began working for Minnesota Power as a lineman, a job that he held for forty years. They transferred to Nisswa in 1952 and lived there until his retirement. In 1986 they moved to Blackduck for a short time and then to Mesa, Arizona. They recently returned to Minnesota to be near their children.

Harvey Beck is survived by his wife, Lois; a daughter, Julie (Bob) Coffey of Durham, NC; two sons, Scott (Susan) Beck of Baxter, and William (Laura) Beck of Yuma, AZ; a half-brother, Kenneth Billings of Duluth, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Wally Billings.
