Harry Benke

Harry Benke, age 86, of Brooklyn Park, MN died Sunday, March 24, 2002. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 1, 2002 at 1:00 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN with Father August Gothman officiating and Father Joseph Menker, OMI concelebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 to the time of service at the church. Memorials are preferred to North Hospice at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Brainerd-Baxter. Harry Benke was born June 30, 1915 son of Nicholas and Victoria (Rybaski) Benke in Stephen, Minnesota. Harry?s life included 60 years on the family farm, near Stephen, Minnesota. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts. One of the many things Harry will be remembered for is his love of fishing. A special thanks to North Hospice and the North Memorial Medical Center for their outstanding and sensitive care.
Survived by his loving wife, Alvina, of nearly 60 years; 4 sons, Don (Pauline) Benke of Minnetonka, David Benke of Eagan, Richard Benke of Phoenix, Az, Darrell (Ann) Benke of Dallas, Tx, and daughter Darlene Peterson of Phoenix, Az. Grandchildren, Blake; Derek; Scott; Michelle; Cory, Nicholas and Nathan. Also survived by his sister Gertrude Stallock of Drayton, ND, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Victoria Benke; brothers, George and Adolph; stepsister, Pauline Chwialkowski.
