Harriet was born on December 22, 1933 to John and Marian (Feekes) Schoep in Sioux County, Iowa. She met and married LeRoy Nordby on July 9, 1953 in Maynard, MN. They farmed near Montevideo for several years before moving to Nisswa in 1971. Harriet was an artist her whole life and they owned and operated Evergreen Gallery in Pequot and Nisswa. Harriet was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross and she enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and decorating. She also liked cooking and walking, but one of her great joys was her church. She loved being an artist and painting oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings. Harriet loved traveling to lush climates, but most of all she loved being with her family.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jasper and Donald. She will be lovingly missed by her husband, LeRoy; son, Louis (Debbie) Nordby; daughter, Nancy Walters; sisters, Judy Penning, Violet Poppen, and Faith Jara; brothers, Earle, Eugene, Verlyn, Marlin, Berdette, Arvin, Jay, and Phillip; grandchildren, Nate, Ashley, Jasmine Nordby and Toby, Pattie, and C.J.
