Harold Ofsthun Jr.

Harold O. Ofsthun Jr, 63, of Brainerd, MN died on Monday, August 17, 2015 at his home. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 9:00AM-11:00AM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.

Harold was born on November 17, 1951 in Minot, ND to Harold and Oveida (Llewellyn) Ofsthun Sr. He entered the United States Navy during his high school years serving eight years as a Bosun's mate and with the Military Police before being honorably discharged. Harold then returned to Minot and worked as a diesel mechanic for Schatz. He then re enlisted with the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Harold returned to his job at Schatz and worked there until his retirement in 2007. In 2009 he moved to Brainerd, MN to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Harold was a member of the Brainerd VFW. He enjoyed curling, bowling, and playing poker. Harold also liked playing darts and pool.

Harold is survived by his son, Shane of Brainerd, MN; daughters, Chanel (Matthew) Zebroski of Baxter, MN, and Shayla (Travis) Pikula of Brainerd, MN; seven grandchildren, Elisha, Caitlyn, Johnathan, Chase, Mason, Dadeian, and Ashton; sisters, Darlene Bergren and Karen Hunter; and brothers, Johnny and Ricky all of Minot, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Oveida; and brother, Jimmy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
