Harold Hanson

Hanson, Harold B., age 85 of Deerwood, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2022. He was born December 5, 1936 to Edle and Ben Hanson in Richfield, MN. He met the love of his life, Fran Drake on a blind date on December 30, 1962 and married on February 29, 1964. They celebrated 55 years of loving marriage and twin girls, Kay and Karen. Harold was very handy and could fix anything that needed repair. He was a welder by trade and loved to volunteer his skills to his friends and family.  He had a great sense of humor and was known for his storytelling ability. He loved telling the grandkids all his stories from the good old days.

Family was number one to Harold.  He cherished all his time spent with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.  He loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, and splitting his own firewood.  Harold and Fran lived a very simple life and were proud of the home they built, in what he always called “God’s Country”. Harold had a generous spirit, a big heart, and was a friend to many.

Preceded in death by his parents Edle and Ben, and his wife, Fran. Survived by sons Shayne (Patti), and Emil, daughters Jessica, Kay (Pat) and Karen (Ron); sister, Diane (Jim); 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  A special thank you to his loving neighbors for all their visits, and for all the help they gave to Harold.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
