Harold Halvorson passed away at the Heritage House in Pequot Lakes on his 83rd birthday, March 19, 2012. He was the sixth child born to Haddie and Olga (Arneson) Halvorson on March 19, 1929, and was a life-long resident of Pequot Lakes.
Polka music, jokes, visiting with people, John Deere tractors and talking about old times were what Harold loved. He had a great memory and could tell you almost anything about Pequot Lakes, family and friends. Before Pequot had a garbage collection service, Harold would drive his tractor and trailer and pick up garbage for $2 a month! He had a kind heart and would help anyone he could.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Julian and Oren; sister, Hannah Pies; twin brother, Merlyn and sister, Elizabeth died shortly after birth.
Those left to grieve are his brother, Clifford of Warren, MI; sisters, Ruby Berg (Keith) of Minnetonka, and Shirley Robideaux of Pequot Lakes; sisters-in-law, Darlene Halvorson of Burnsville and Patsy Halvorson of Walker; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be 2 PM on Saturday, March 31, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
