Harold Alred

Harold Edmond Alred born July 7,1925 90 years old passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home in St Cloud, MN.
Harold is survived by, son Michael Alred (Diane) of Leesburg, FL, son Bryan Alred (Dorothy) of Pineville, WV. Sara Holbrook (sister) and many nieces and a nephew in Piedmont, AL; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Roger and Betsy Johnson of Bartlett, TN.

Harold was born in Piedmont Alabama and his wife Ione from Wykoff, MN. Harold and Ione both World War II Navy Veterans. They were married for 66 years at the time of Iones death in 2010. Harold started his career as a mechanic at Marchant Chrysler Garage for 13 years and then was self employed owning the Sinclair Service Station on Hwy 63 in Spring Valley MN. After they moved to Baxter, MN in 1965 Harold owned the Sinclair Bulk Agency until 1972 and then worked as Custodian at the Baxter grade school for 10 years. After retirement he and Ione enjoyed Apache Junction Arizona for 17 years. Flea marketing was their love. After Ione's death, Harold went to Leeseburg, Florida with Mike and Diane and Flea marketed for 3 years. He had a wonderful Life and loved Florida and the friends he made at Midway Manor RV Park where he owned a place of his own.

Preceded in death by, Ione M Alred (wife); Barbara Jo Schlagel (daughter) of Brainerd, MN; his parents JB Alred SR. and Shelly Alred; JB Alred JR (brother); Lois Gilley (sister); Betty Simpson (sister); and Imogene Tolbert (sister) of Piedmont, Alabama.

At Harold's request there will not be a service. He will be buried next to Ione at Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
A memorial will be set up to provide a donation to the Brainerd Legion Scholarship fund (Harold had been a Legion member for 69 years) and Purchase a memorial bench for the Baxter Park.
