Harlan E Hanson, age 86, died peacefully in his sleep September 18th, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at 1pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be at Fort Snelling at a later date.
Harlan Everett Hanson was born to Herman and Judith (Tungland) Hanson on January 18th, 1933 in Heron Lake Township Minnesota. After graduating from high school, Harlan very proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He then married his first wife Joanne Gjengdahl and had two children, Linda and Paul. After an honorable discharge from the Navy he went back to College at Augusburg to become a Physical Therapist. He later married Rosalee Johnson until her passing in 2009. Harlan can be described as a selfless, intelligent, and a stubborn Norwegian man. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and boating. He was a true patriot who was passionate about his country and comradery with his brothers at sea.
Harlan is survived by his children, Linda Trombley, Paul (Sonja) Hanson; Step-son Steve (Stacy) Newman; Twin sister Ardis (Bill) Dorsey; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and special friend Kathy Hannay.
