Gwen Hall

Gwen Hall, age 73, of Baxter died Monday morning, March 14, 2005, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial Services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, March 18, at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Andrew Smith officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Milaca, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2626 E. 82nd St, #225, Bloomington, MN, 55425 or www.jdrf.org.
Gwen was born on February 6, 1932, in Forston, MN, the daughter of Louis and Emma (Nystrom) Nelson. She was called from this life on Monday, March14, 2005, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She attained the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 8 days.

Gwen grew up in the Milaca area and then moved to St. Paul. She graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul. After her schooling she went to work for Northwest Airlines. After her marriage she worked for the Grand Rapids Board of Education. Later she moved to Phoenix and worked for American Express and then the City of Phoenix. Upon returning to Minnesota she worked for Quality Park in St. Paul, eventually retiring from there. In 1996 she moved to Brainerd to be near her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Emma; brother, Roy; sister-in-law, Bev; and stepmother, Alice. Gwen is mourned in passing her daughter, Vicki (David) Kaul of Baxter, grandchildren, Christa and Laura Kaul of Baxter; brothers, Dennis Nelson of Forrest Lake, MN and Herb Nelson of Cottage Grove, MN; sister, Marlys Anderson of Maplewood, MN; brother-in-law, Byron Houghtelin of Deer Wood, MN; and sister-in-law, Bev Nelson of South St. Paul, MN; and Vicki?s father, Stan Hall.
