Greta Peterson

Richard (Dick) LeRoy Peterson and Greta Joyce Peterson both peacefully passed away from natural causes. Dick was born in in Starbuck, MN June 18, 1927 and passed away December 26, 2020, he was 93 years old.  Greta was born in La Crosse, WI November 14, 1930 and passed away March 2, 2021, she was 90 years old.

Dick and Greta met on a blind date in Minneapolis, MN and within a year of knowing each other married on June 7, 1952.  They were married for 68 years.  Dick was passionate about fishing for walleye and duck hunting.  Greta was passionate about singing in the choir, mentoring youth, and her stock club.  Both were members of the Crosslake Lutheran Church.

Dick and Greta were gentle souls and their kindness reached out to everyone they knew.  As parents they taught their children and grandchildren self-worth, integrity, and love.

Dick and Greta are survived by their four children, Gary (Corrine) Peterson, David (Carlene) Peterson, Susan Pierce, Greg (Debbie) Peterson; and Greta’s sister Ingrid (Barb McKay) Carlson; their grandchildren Brie (Leo) McSherry, Emmy (Jerred Moore) Peterson, Tera (Dave Kim) Peterson, and Cole, Macy, and Max Peterson.  They also leave behind their many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their faithful church family and Hills Crossing family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Crosslake Lutheran Church Thursday May 13, 2021.  Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm, the service will start at 2:00 pm.  Immediately following there will be a gathering at Boyd’s Lodge in Crosslake, MN.
