Gregory Nelson

Gregory L. Nelson, age 60, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Care Center, on Thursday, November 1st , after a long battle with cancer. A service will be held on Wednesday, November 7th, at 11:00 AM, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, from 5-7, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples, with Prayers at 6:45. Burial will be at the Poplar Cemetery.

Greg was born on June 6, 1952, in Cooperstown, ND, to Clarence and Enid, (Limmesand) Nelson. He grew up in Motley, graduating from Motley High School in 1970. He worked in construction his entire adult life, working in Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, Wyoming, and Texas. He enjoyed deer hunting, motorcycles, snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, and pickups. He was a Union member and belonged to the Elks Lodge.

Greg is survived by his daughter, Angela (John) Sullivan; grandchildren, Gage, Johnnie, Tiffany, Brooklyn, and Madison; his parents, Clarence and Enid; a brother, Bradley (Roxanne) Nelson; sisters, Susan (Mike) Nelson, Kristine, (Les) Nelson, and Louise (Tom) Dvorak; many nieces, nephews, and closest friends, Ron Hanson and John Greig.
