Gregory J. Murray, age 52, died on December 8, 2012. A memorial/gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, his birthday from 5-8 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with Bishop Jeff Howard officiating. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend and share memories of him as we cry, laugh, smile, and miss him together.
Greg was born on January 2, 1960 in Salinas, CA to Bette Florence Moe and Russell Carl Murrey. He was a devout Mormon, actively attending church in Brainerd and St. Cloud. He served a church mission in New Orleans, LA and Sau Paulo, Brazil from 1979-1981. He was nationally known in his field of Neuropsychology, publishing many books, articles, and research projects, helping many graduate students earn their doctoral degrees. He was a Civil War buff and had an eye for photography, always trying to see the beauty of the world.
He is preceded in death by his father, Russell, who died in 2008. Greg will be deeply missed and is survived by his children, Justin (30, AZ), Britton (20, St. Cloud), Joshua (18, Moorhead), Seth (16, Nisswa), Ian (14, Nisswa), and Hope (10, Nisswa). He is also survived by the mother of his 5 children, Martha; sister, Susan; mother, Bette; friends, Dave and Jan Simons and many others.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter, MN.
