Grace Pietz

Grace A. (Ackerson) Pietz, 94, of Pillager, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 20, 2012at First Baptist Church in Pillager with Rev. Paul Johnson and Rev. Bob Osell officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.

Grace was born April 24, 1918, in Sauk Centre, MN, the daughter of Edward and Sarah (Jenkins) Ackerson. After working as a seamstress for 17 years for the Fingerhut Corporation, Grace moved to the Pillager area where she has lived for the last 35 years. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She liked fishing and flowers. Her quick wit and never-give-up attitude will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her sisters, Jeanette Fornshell, of Brainerd and Edith Pietz, of Pillager; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Collett and her brothers, Jack and Jess Ackerson.
