Gordon Schulke

February 3, 1924 — March 22, 2021

Gordon F. Schulke, 97, of Brainerd, passed away on Monday March 22nd 2021. He was born on February 3rd 1924 in Aurelia Iowa to Charles and Delia Schulke. Services will be held 11AM on Tuesday March 30th at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be at the Baxter City Cemetery.

Gordy married Betty Smith on March 30th, 1946 in Cherokee Iowa. Together they had three children. Gordy was proud to serve in the Navy. He was a hard worker as a heavy machinery diesel mechanic. He went on to obtain his college degree and taught for fourteen years at Staples Vocational School in the diesel mechanic program. Gordy enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He volunteered with the Baxter Lions Club, American Legion, VFW and the Minnesota Deer Hunters association.

Gordy will be deeply missed by his children; Jolene Herman (Micheal), Jeanette Ruff (Paul) and Judy Rardin (Ron), brothers and sisters; Carlton Schulke (Bethene), James Schulke (Lois), Douglas Schulke (Penny), Byron Schulke (Beverly) and Dana Schulke (Joan), eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters; Nadine Pettis and Janice Ogren; two brothers, Kenneth Schulke and Neil Schulke; and a grandson, Joseph Ruff.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
