Gloria Norton

October 25, 1925 — December 20, 2018

Gloria Norton, 93 of Staples, MN entered the arms of her savior, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. Services for Gloria will be 10:30AM, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Staples Alliance Church. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service for visitation.

Gloria was born October 25, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN to Sivert and Agnes (Svenson) Olson. She graduated from Edison High School and attended Bethel College. Following the end of WWII, Don Norton returned from the Pacific Campaign, and was introduced to Gloria by his cousin, and her best friend, Ailene Norton. They fell in love and were married February 14, 1947. Gloria enjoyed sewing, embroidery and crossword puzzles.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Don of 71 years; children, Kathy Jean Norton, Timothy (Dottie), Mike (Kathy), Dennis (Daninne Egizio), Kevin (Darcie), Shawn (Nancy), Colleen (Murrey) Anderson; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and counting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sivert and Agnes; sister, Kathrine Olson; brothers, Everett Olson, Burtram Olson, Woodrow Olson and a granddaughter, Kerri Ann Norton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the “Great Commission Fund” of the Staples Alliance Church.
