Gloria Lund

Gloria F. Lund, 91, of East Gull Lake, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Services for Gloria will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services.

Gloria was born August 2, 1925 in Brainerd, MN, the daughter of Dr. Werner J. and Myrtle (Shaw) Lund. She graduated from Staples High School in 1942 and went to Vasser College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She returned to MN to manage her father's medical office in Staples and finished her degree at the University of Minnesota.

Gloria was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge and Grand Ruth in 1959. She also, was active in the Republican Party and was proud to serve as MN State Chairwomen in 1961. Gloria moved to East Gull Lake in 1976, and she continued to work in the health office at Staples Public School until retirement.

She is survived by her nieces, Sharon Ruttger, of Lakeshore and Barb Bjorkland, of Brainerd; nephew, Steve Clabots, of Chaska; great nephews, Eric Peterson, Adam Clabots (who was also her special caretaker), John Clabots, Bruce Lund, and Jeff Lund; great nieces, Erin Hlavac and Kathy Lund; great-great-nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis Clabots and Jack Lund, and her great nephew, Greg Peterson. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
